Flo's Blossom & Herbs will be open to the public for the summer season, July to September from 9 am to 1 pm. For the spring season on Saturdays for seasonal blossoms April through June by appointment only.
We are located 50 minutes from the DC metro area. For families with children we have a pond, chickens and plenty of room to run around.

- Most people spend about an hour visiting our farm.

What to bring & requests.
- Farm appropriate shoes/sandals/boots. We have free range chickens and assorted wildlife roaming around. Watch your step!
- Your own clippers or scissors, if desired. We do provide them if you don't have any.
- Water bottles. The sun can get hot!
- Sunscreen. Flo’s Blossoms & Herbs is an open field, without shade.
- Please DO NOT allow children to chase, harass or tease our animals in any way, or purposely destroy our property. You will be asked to leave.
- All pets of any kind must be on a leash at all times, please pick up after your pets. If you do not have a bag just ask..
What do I do when I get to Flo's Blossoms & Herbs?
- Parking lot is located behind the main house.
- If no one is present to greet you. There are instruction in a display on top of the milk can, next to the garage door. This one pager has instructions and a map of our farm. PLEASE SUPERVISE CHILDREN CAREFULLY WHILE VISITING OUR FARM
- Many people like to look at everything first before they start cutting, go for a walk around our farm. Pleases stay on cut paths, you are in nature and we have bees, ticks, snakes and other assorted wildlife. Please remember that most wild creatures want nothing to do with humans, when they hear you coming they will depart. However occasionally you may surprise wildlife. Stop and watch, but please to not chase or torment wildlife, this is when humans get stung and bitten. Do not enter the cow pastures.
- There are two stations with supplies for cut your own, one in the herb garden and one next to the flower beds.
- We have two different size options for cut your own, one for herbs and the other for flowers. Both sizes are $5 a cup or recycled jar. Fill a bucket of flowers for $20 and then arrange into jars to take home. DAHLIAS & LILIES: are sold separately "By-the-Stem", ranging from $1 - $4 per stem. For example a Dahlia is $1 per flower and a Lily with 3 flowers is $3. These flowers are easily damaged by improper cutting, please be gentle or ask for assistance.
- Take a bucket or cup or jar, choose some clippers and cut some flowers or herbs (by the cup only). Both stations have a water pitcher for fill your cup with water when you are finished.
- Gently strip/cut off all the foliage/leaves from the lower 2/3 of the stem. This helps you fit more flowers in your cup or jar.
- If you brought your own vase, feel free to sit down and arrange your flowers at our picnic tables. Take your time and have fun!
- Please return the clippers before you head home and pay for your flowers. We accept cash and Venmo only. Deposit cash into payment box located inside the garage door on the left shelf. If no one is available, this is an honor system farm. Leave your money and take you approbate change if needed. If paying by Venmo QR code is available to scan (please DO NOT put "products or services" in the description or we will need to charge you a 3% service charge).

Retreat
During the week Flo's Blossom & Herbs is a retreat for parents of Asperger & Autistic children. Bring a lunch, book or magazine find a quiet place to just take a break, meet new people and share your stories, or help with gardening. By appointment only, email us to make arrangements for a visit.
Apprenticeship for Young Adults
We are offering an apprenticeship for young adults struggling to find their path into adulthood. This program is for young adults ages 18-28, high functioning Aspergers or recovering from a serious mental illness (SMI) to learn about farming, gardening and horticulture. This is an opportunity for mentors, social coaches and job coaches to bring their clients to our farm to explore a career in horticulture or farming. This opportunity is custom designed to suit the needs of each individual, it could be a single day or multiple day visits. By appointment only, email us to find out more.
